Who We Are
Of Canada's over 6 million senior citizens, close to 500,000 live in care facilities, such as retirement and nursing homes. These citizens can face both physical and mental health challenges, which have certainly been amplified as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We created our not-for-profit corporation, Sending Sunshine, to try to improve the lives of our beloved and highly valued senior citizens.
It all started with 3 good friends.
Founded by three friends, Sending Sunshine is a not-for-profit corporation that seeks to provide a ray of happiness in the lives of the elderly living in Canadian care facilities.
Making global Connection.
Sending Sunshine collects cards containing uplifting handwritten messages written by people in Canada and beyond.
Loneliness during COVID-19
Your cards are delivered to various care facilities, where they are ultimately distributed to the residents. By receiving a handmade card, it is our hope that senior citizens will experience more joy and love in their everyday lives.
To connect seniors living in Canada with people from around the globe through the power of the written word, while promoting volunteerism among youth.
A world in which every senior citizen will never feel alone.
Treating all people
Being of benefit to members
of the community.
Capitalizing on the differences
that make us unique.
