Our General Card Writing Program has ended.
We recommend participating in our Senior Nomination Program, where you can write to a specific senior currently featured through our website.

What should my letter look like?
For a comfortable letter-reading experience for our seniors, please follow these guidelines:
Your letter must be handwritten.
Write at least 3 sentences, with an average of 15-20 words per sentence.
Write legibly and in large print.
Each card should be folded, and at least 4x5 inches in folded size.
No postcard-style letters, please!
Do not include any loose glitter, confetti or snacks.
What should I write?
All our nominated seniors would love to hear from you! Read these steps before you write your letter:
Introduce yourself!
Include your first name, and write about your hobbies, interests, hometown, etc.
Make your message kind and thoughtful.
Cards written with offensive or inappropriate content will not be accepted.
Write with compassion!
Let your recipient know they are loved, and write how awesome they are!
Do not write phrases like "get well soon," "my condolences," or anything similar in your letter.
Language that is condescending, such as mentioning that a senior is nearing the end of their life, is not permitted.
Avoid mentioning religion.
Sending joy, one card at a time!
