It started with friendship...
Did you know that of Canada's 6 million+ senior citizens, close to 500,000 live in care facilities, such as long term care and nursing homes? These individuals can face both physical and mental health challenges, which have been amplified as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founded by four friends, Sending Sunshine is a registered charity that seeks to provide a ray of happiness in the lives of older adults living in Canada and beyond.
Sending Sunshine spreads kindness and connection through handwritten cards created by people in Canada and beyond. We deliver cards to care facilities across the country, where they are shared with seniors to bring joy, comfort, and meaningful moments to their everyday lives. Additionally, through our Senior Nomination, Chapter, and Pen Pal Programs, we create opportunities for people to build connections and make a positive impact through the simple act of sending a thoughtful card.
